Design quality is the key to a polished finished product. If you have an existing logo and plan to scan the art or if you plan to browse the internet for your logo art the format in which you save and send the art will determine the quality of the image. For the highest quality printing, it is preferable to receive a vector images such as Adobe Illustrator (.ai or .eps) or Corel Draw (.cdr). Other acceptable formats are .bmp, jpg, gif, emf, and wmf although some of these file formats may require an additional fee for art time.
Graphic artwork falls under one of two formats: vector or raster (bit map). Vector based artwork is mainly used for spot-color separations such as typeface, solid color graphics, and clip art images. Vector images identify the shape of an image through its map coordinates.
Raster based images re designed for high end photorealistic work. Formats such as bmp, jpg, gif, and tiff are examples of these types of files. These images are used for digital printing and process color printing. These images consist of small pixels (ord ots) of color that are connected to form a photograph. These pixels can be manipulated to tweak, enhance, or lighten the photo and can be created by scanning artwork or digital photographs, or by painting with a photo editing program such as Adobe Photoshop or Corel Paint.
Unlike vector images, the quality of a raster image is directly related to the image resolution or the number of pixels per inch. Vector images, on the other hand, are created by mathematical equations, so pixels dont impact the quality of the image. As a result, they can be scaled up or down in size without a loss in quality.
Image size and resolution
Be aware that images can not be printed larger than they come to us. Best results are achieved from images that are of a high resolution (300 dpi) and larger than the area ou request them to be printed on. Images taken from web sites are not high resolution images and are generally not more than 72 dpi and can not be reproduced well.

Additional Information
Please do not create your artwork in a word processing program. Such a design usually winds up having to be recreated from scratch in the correct program. A program like Microsoft Word comes with a good selection of clip art and allows you to create graphics, shapes, and text effects in many colors, but it is difficult (and often times impossible) to print color separations from these files. Also, please dont change the format of your design just to make it smaller for emailing.
How to save money on imprinted design
1. limit the number of colors you wish to print
2. limit the number of locations that artwork will be printed on your garment. Additional placement charges apply if you want to add locations
3. Order white or light colored garments. Tee shirt mills charge more for dark colored shirts and printing on dark shirts often requires an underlay to avoid the dark shirt showing thorugh the ink.
4. The more you buy the more you save! Order in larger quantites and your price per garment can go down dramatically.
5. Do not compromise on quality always order 100% cotton, brand name, heavyweight imprinted tee shirts.
6. Pick a company you can trust. Seek out a company that offers a wide range of custom apparel, screen printing, and digital art services. Look for real customer testimonials.
